Score Media and Gaming Inc obtained market access to offer mobile sports betting in Illinois through an agreement with Harrah’s Joliet Hotel & Casino, a Caesars Entertainment Inc appeal.

Subject to obtaining all relevant licenses and approvals from the Illinois Gambling Council, the company plans to launch its mobile bookmaker, the bet on the score, in the Prairie State during the second half of the 2021 calendar.

“Accessing the Illinois market is an important development that will bring our award-winning mobile bookmaker to one of the most populous states,” said Jean Levy, Chairman and CEO of theScore. “Caesars is a giant in the casino entertainment industry and we are delighted to have entered into this agreement to expand theScore Bet’s footprint into another key new market. “

Under the terms of the agreement, Caesars will receive a percentage of revenue from theScore Bet Illinois mobile sports betting operations, subject to certain minimum annual amounts guaranteed. In addition, theScore will reimburse Caesars for certain license costs and fees. The agreement is for an initial period of 10 years, with a renewal period of 10 years, exercisable at the discretion of theScore.

theScore Bet is now available in four states – New Jersey, Colorado, Indiana and Iowa – and offers a seamless interstate experience for sports fans as it grows across the United States through a single mobile app with a multi-state wallet functionality.

It is an immersive and holistic mobile sports betting offering that includes a wide range of pre-match and live betting in all major leagues and sporting events, as well as a full variety of betting types.
